What happens when you have a great idea, but it gets stuck somewhere? This hands-on class takes on "the impossible" in a real world sustainability problem at UMD. You'll strengthen skills of persistence, rapid experimentation, and problem framing/reframing - all of which you'd use to bring any idea to life.

A spring break tour of the big island of Hawaii highlights the island's physical and biological environment, and human society's interactions with it. Pre-departure lectures and exam, and a research project are required.
