Human beings have told stories from the dawn of civilization. This course explores the power, place, and practice of storytelling in relation to the gender and gender-bending of the narrator, narrated, and reader. We will look at the way storytelling practice has been used for performing, reforming, and transforming gender in a variety of narratives (lyrical forms, memoirs, films, and performances).
