Health Behavior I: Theoretical Foundations of Health Behavior

The purpose of this course is to provide the student with an understanding of how the social and behavioral sciences are applied to health. We will address behavioral, social and cultural factors that influence health and health disparities over the life course. Public health issues related to individuals and populations will be examined in terms of social and behavioral theories, empirical research findings, and methodologies.
