Global health challenges are immensely complex and underscore the multiple interconnections among social, economic, environmental, and biotechnological dimensions of health problems worldwide. Global health encompasses health care systems, medical practices, and ideas about illness in cross-cultural contexts, as well as issues of health development, global health inequity, racism and other -isms, and human rights issues. We will explore theoretical frameworks and practical perspectives shaping the global health panorama, including how public health issues are addressed by international and community organizations in developing countries

Introduction to the global health careerscape: leading organizations in the field, current and emerging trends, and essential skills for Global Health professionals. Familiarization with resources for career exploration and opportunities to gain relevant experience. Students will identify opportunities to build their professional network and gain experience as they prepare for global health experiential learning through research, internships, or field work.
