Special Topics in Dance; Pedagogy as Performance

This course will entail engaging in teaching full class sessions to then receive feedback on teaching through the evaluative elements of performance practice, theory, and design. Students will teach full class sessions, provide feedback that is informed by their own areas of expertise, and gain deeper understanding and awareness of components to be considered in the delivery of content. No matter whether you are teaching a lighting design class, choreography class, physical theater class, or script analysis class, this course will explore ways to: improve embodied teaching practice, increase the number of strategies and methods used in delivering content, develop a robust reflective practice for continued improvement.

No teaching or performance experience needed.
