Introduction to Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses

Prerequisite: Students must have completed EPIB610, 611 and EPIB 650 with a grade of B or better.
Restriction: Students from other departments must request departmental permission to register.
This course provides an introduction to the principles and methods of conducting systematic reviews and meta-analyses, key approaches in synthesizing published scientific evidence. Students will gain knowledge on the step by step process of conducting systematic reviews including how to develop research questions, to design and register review protocols, to conduct comprehensive literature searches, to extract data and assess study quality as well as to perform quantitative synthesis using meta-analytic techniques with STATA statistical software.
