Additional information: The class will meet synchronously/virtually via zoom Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays during winter term. Graduate school is an important time for developing not only research skills but also a broad range of personal, professional, and interpersonal skills. This one-credit course will introduce participants across disciplines to a range of resources for developing these skills. Building on established resources including NIH's Building Resilient Scientists curriculum, and the IGEN Hidden Curriculum Orientation, the course helps students explore the hidden curriculum of graduate school, evidence-based ways to develop resilience, and campus resources for continued growth and success. Through brief readings, reflections, and discussions, students will engage with other graduate students from across programs and stages of study as a means to develop a sense of community and belonging at the University. Geared toward master's students and pre-candidacy doctoral students, the course is open to any currently matriculated graduate student.
