What do kids learn when playing with robots? How can video games teach people? Can people really learn a new language using an app? In this course, we will explore how technologies can help people learn. Central to the class will be looking at different types of tools, technologies, and environments, and investigating the various ways to help people learn. As part of the clas students will learn to see the world through the eyes of an educational technology designer and develop ways to create and evaluate technological tools for tinkering and learning. Along the way, we will apply an inclusive user-entered design process to a series of projects, which may include mobile applications, robotics, Internet of Things, toys, and games.
