This advanced architectural design studio course focuses on a large site in an urban context. The studio will explore the supply chains, performative qualities, design constraints, and construction processes of natural, carbon-sequestering, healthy building materials. Students will use research to define building programs that respond to urban conditions.

Participants in this Creative Placemaking design studio will work with local partners on place-based projects that aim to advance community goals to support public dialogue, elevate local stories, engage in relationship building, and support thriving communities. The studio will design at multiple scales and develop ideas and skills through shared inquiry, iterative making, and serious play.
