Scholarly Communications librarians are key figures in supporting faculty and students in understanding copyright and authors' rights, publishing workflows and technologies, and tools for preserving scholarship and measuring impact. Over the course of the semester, students will be introduced to the major areas of expertise for a scholarly communications librarian, although this content is an ideal primer for any student interested in a career in academic and research libraries or cultural institutions. We will engage with multimodal and non-traditional scholarship through a variety of hands-on activities andparticipate in open pedagogy by creating our own open access publication.
