Prerequisite: MUSC451 or equivalent; or permission of ARHU-School of Music.
Analytical tools, techniques, and perspectives for interpreting tonal music. Musical materials for analysis will predominantly be European music from about 1775 through 1900, supplemented with other tonal music genres, primarily those from the African American tradition.
