Students will gain practical experience under conditions conducive to educational and professional development. The internship is a supervised period of community/public health activities, carried out in a relevant professional organization, that emphasizes the application of theory and previous coursework. Most field work experiences will be off-campus and require 45 work hours per registered credit during the semester.
Students can use the Public Health Practice database to find a qualifying internship or request new site approval for their internship. For site approval, permission to enroll and guidance, contact Ms Tracy Kennedy (kennedyt@umd.edu).
