Introduction to American Social Dance

Students must pay a $25 lab fee. This course explores American social dance as a powerful expression of gathering, celebration, joy, protest, communication, artistry, and embodied cultural history. Through movement practice, students will examine how social dance serves as a practice, students will examine how social dance serves as a living archive of identity, resistance, and community.
