This course focuses on a unique discourse in Israel, 'war-normalizing discourse', a set of linguistic, discursive, and cultural devices that blur the anomalous characteristics of war by transforming war into a "normal" part of life. The course will examine the reciprocal relations between this discourse, Israeli culture and society, and foreign policy.
