Restricted to MLIS students. Introduces MLIS students to the transformative potential of intergroup dialogue (IGD) as a powerful tool in advancing social justice within library and information science. The course has two primary goals: first, to immerse students in the practice of IGD as participants in a 5-week facilitated dialogue, where they will engage in meaningful conversations around identity, power, and systemic inequities. Second, the course integrates key social justice principles and ideals, contextualizing them within library settings and using IGD to bridge differences across diverse communities.
