The first of a two-semester survey of quantum mechanics, employing the formalism of Dirac notation, linear operators, and Hilbert spaces. Quantum state preparation and measurement, the Schroedinger equation in both its matrix and wave descriptions, and applications to systems such as the harmonic oscillator and the hydrogen atom.
