From Paper to Publication: Supporting the Process of Scholarly Writing in Education

"Publish" is an intimidating word. This course has two major goals, both designed to make it less intimidating. First, we will collaboratively demystify the process of publishing academic journal articles by helping you understand journals, editors, reviews, revisions, and resubmissions. Second, we will work together to hone our own writing, build writing routines, and engage in the process of feedback, review, and revision. Your "ticket to class" (the first class) is a drafted paper that you'd like to eventually submit to a journal. Over the course of the class, you will regularly work with a small writing group to share your writing-in-progress and help each other edit and move your writing toward being ready to submit to a journal.
