Special Topics in Agricultural and Resources Economics

This course provides students with an advanced undergraduate understanding of key aspects of agricultural trade and the impact of domestic agricultural policies and international-trade policies on the agricultural sector. Students will study the gains (losses) from trade, the effect of quantitative (import quotas, export quotas), tax (tariffs and export taxes) policies, non-tariff barriers to trade, domestic subsidization and supply controls on the agricultural sector. Particular emphasis will be given to the US agricultural sector.
