Introduction to Innovation and Design Thinking examines the design process that brings ideas to reality. Throughout this course, students will engage in project based learning, progressing through the key stages of the design thinking framework: empathize, define, ideate, prototype, andtest. By applying human-centered design techniques, students will develop innovative solutions to a design challenge, work in teams to deeply understand user needs, brainstorm creative ideas, build prototypes utilizing the many Maker Spaces across campus, develop a methodology to test their solutions, and present their results to their peers. This course emphasizes collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking, preparing students to tackle real-world challenges with empathy and strategic problem-solving skills.
