Essential Data Skills for Business Analytics

Additional information: CMSC majors will not receive credit for this course towards their upper level concentration in their CMSC major.
Building on prior programming knowledge, this course introduces principles of data science and AI for business analytics. Students will learn to collect, organize, analyze, and visualize data to support decision-making in areas such as finance, accounting, marketing, and operations. The course emphasizes practical, hands-on exercises using modern, high-level programming languages and industry-standard software. Students will also explore AI tools for analytics, learning their capabilities, limitations, and how they can augment data-driven insights.
Restricted to Information Systems majors with 60+ credit hours and BMGT & Business Anlaytics minors with 72+ credit hours.
