Focuses on the foundational principles and applied practices of sport management within youth and collegiate sport organizations. Students will examine how sport managers plan, organize, govern, finance, market, and evaluate sport programs, events, facilities, and athlete services across school-, community-, and college-based settings. Youth and collegiate sport are treated as interconnected delivery systems through which sport management decisions directly shape participation opportunities, athlete experiences, and long-term engagement in physical activity. Throughout the course, students will evaluate sport management practices using kinesiology-informed perspectives related to human movement, injury prevention, mental health, and health equity.
