The course examines developmental and cultural perspectives on aging, including physiological changes, sociocultural influences, and self processes that shape quality of life in later adulthood. It explores how rising longevity is reshaping individual experiences, family dynamics, and social systems across cultures, as well as how technological innovation intersects with aging. An experiential learning component provides hands on engagement with community organizations serving older adults to deepen understanding of the aging process.
