A hands-on history course that helps student to understand how historical research is done and to do it themselves. It begins with the proposition that in a world with so much misinformation and disinformation, it is more important than ever to understand how we make judgments about the past and discover and analyze that past. While questions of slavery, law, and power in the early Americas and the British empire are at the core of this class, so too is the research process.
