Introduces the fundamental concepts of spatial thinking and spatial analysis, as well as the basic-to-intermediate skills and techniques to apply to planning research and practice. It balances lectures on the core principles of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) with applied instruction on managing, processing, and interpreting spatial data, emphasizing hands-on experience to provide students with essential spatial analysis and mapping skills.
