From the first plow to precision agriculture, this course explores how farming built-and continues to transform-America. Students examine the role of agriculture in shaping communities, economies, and ecosystems across America's history. Topics range from colonial and industrial agriculture to biotechnology, GMOs, and the rise of corporate agribusiness. Emphasis is placed on how agricultural practices influence environmental sustainability, biodiversity, and human health.
