Writers' House Second Year Colloquium: Form and Theory of Creative Writing; Forms of Resistance and Resilience: A Multi-Genre Workshop in Short & Hybrid Forms
Credits: 3
Grad Meth: Reg
GenEd: DSHU or DSSP
Restricted to Jimenez-Porter Writers' House students.

In this class, there will be a strong focus on generating new "short form" work across genres: poetry, fiction, creative non-fiction, and hybrid. Using a range of mixed-media and in-class creative prompts, we will write and share new work during each class. We will likewise dive into a carefully curated selection of short, focused readings on craft and revision in order to hone our skill in cross-genreclose reading and transformative peer feedback. This is a fun, exploratory, and student-driven course designed both to refine and expand your portfolio.
