Introductory Astrophysics 1 - Foundations

Prerequisite: Must have completed or be concurrently enrolled in MATH115.
Credit only granted for: ASTR130 or ASTR120.
First course in a three-course sequence for students planning to major in Astronomy. Celestial coordinate systems, seasonal astronomy, orbital motion, electromagnetic spectrum, magnitudes. Emphasis on mathematical preparation and rigor in preparation for successive courses.
