Many problems in extremism, security, and human well-being are resistant to simple solutions. In this radically interdisciplinary methods course, students will be introduced to unconventional but effective tools for understanding complex social problems, with multi-methods projects focused on the enabling conditions for extremism. Topics include complexity, systems, strategy, and ethics, with introductions to participatory, visual, qualitative, quantitative, computational, formal, and informatics methods.
