This course is a seminar that focuses on analyzing a dual question: how advancements in AI are shaping policy, political, and societal discourse; and, how is policy treating AI as a subject of governance, and how should AI be governed? This course aims to have CS/AI students engage deeply with literature in international relations, political science, computer science, and engineering. The goal of the course is for students to engage critically with their own CS research and its current and potential integration with society.
