This Geology Department seminar will explore the style and logic of writing abstracts, articles, and proposals, as well as the preparation of clear and concise presentations, in order to enhance the quality of Geoscience Communications and hasten the pace of successful publicationsand placement of graduate students. The seminar will includereadings of well-written cutting edge articles in the Geosciencesas well as in-class writing assignments and presentations, the development and maintenance of a course blog, and an end-semester submission and defenseof an NSF style proposal.
