Special Problems in Physics; Quantum Physics and Art: Metaphor, Meaning, and Creative Practice
Credits: 1 - 3
Grad Meth: Reg, P-F, Aud
An interdisciplinary seminar studio course open to students of all majors and backgrounds. Together, we'll explore how ideas from quantum physics have inspired artists, writers, filmmakers, and composers, and how they might inspire you. No prior experience in physics or the arts required. Drawing inspiration from works of literature, film, visual art, and music that grapple with quantum themes, students will develop their own original creative project a piece of music, a painting, a short film, or any art form of their choosing. Regular one-on-one check-ins throughout the semester will support each student's process, and the course culminates in a shared presentation of work. Science as inspiration, artas inquiry. Make something you've never made before.
