Introduces students to the major development and security challenges impacting the African continent today. This includes catalyzing economic growth, promoting democratic governance, and reducing armed conflict. Also covered are the varied effects of migration, managing the continent's rapid urbanization, improving service delivery in key areas such as health and education, and the transformative impacts of newer technologies (AI, digital finance, drones, etc). The course will draw onthe practical experiences of most of Africa's 54 countries and all of its major sub-regions.
