Introduction to Computer Aided Design

Prerequisite: Must have completed or be concurrently enrolled in MATH141.

Restriction: Permission of ENGR-Mechanical Engineering department.

Credit only granted for: ENME414 or ENME272.

Fundamentals of CAD, using solid modeling packages (Pro/E, SolidWorks, and Autodesk Inventor). Two and three dimensional drawing. Dimensioning and specifications. Introduction of CAD based analysis tools. Students will complete a design project.

Students are required to take the examinations in person either at the University of Maryland or at an approved off-site proctoring center. Many universities and community colleges provide testing-center services however, some sites may charge a proctoring fee, which will be the responsibility of the student.
