An exploration of the theory and practice of teaching creative writing at the secondary and post-secondary levels. Topics include workshop pedagogy, alternative models for creative writing instruction, curriculum and syllabus design, assessment of creative work, and the relationship between creative practice and writing instruction. Students will develop materials for a creative writing course and reflect critically on the pedagogical assumptions underlying common workshop practices.
