Studies the transformations undergone by the travel narrative genre from the early modern period onto the twenty-first century, as well as its influence on drama and novels. Readings will include works by Lery, Montaigne, Racine, Graffigny, Tocqueville, Beauvoir, and Rufin. Taught in French.
