Ready to turn your ideas into action? This course is your chance to launch something real: your mindset, your network, and even your first venture.
Offered through the Dingman-Lamone Center for Entrepreneurship, this 1-credit, hands-on course is open to all majors and backgrounds. You'll explore the world of entrepreneurship, from founders and investors to early startup employees, in both for-profit and social impact ventures.
No business background is required. All you need is curiosity and a willingness to learn by doing. Designed for students who want to explore entrepreneurship now or in the future, this course helps you build the skills and confidence that real founders use every day.
You will create, test, and pitch your own idea while earning academic credit. Along the way, you will explore how your story, passions, strengths, and identity can fuel your future in entrepreneurship. Topics include imposter syndrome, authentic networking, empowerment, inclusive customer discovery, business model creation, pitching, funding, and more.
You will leave with a prototype, a pitch, a supportive community of diverse creators, and connections to UMD's entrepreneurial ecosystem. Come as you are. Leave as a builder.
